EU exit would lead to City job losses

Liberal Democrat MEP for London Sarah Ludford says that EU exit would lead to City job losses. A new survey published today by TheCityUK has found that four in five business leaders in the financial sector want Britain to stay in the EU.
Almost three quarters of financial sector leaders agree that their firm benefits from UK membership of the EU, according to the survey.
More than a third (37%) of financial sector bosses said they would relocate staff if the UK left the EU.said:“The survey shows just how disastrous leaving the EU would be for London’s financial sector and the jobs it provides. The City is crucial source of employment in London with hundreds of thousands of people employed in or reliant on the capital’s financial sector. Many of these jobs would be lost to other countries if Britain pulled out of the EU.”
“I’m proud that the Liberal Democrats are the party of ‘In’ when it comes to Europe, as we’re committed to protecting the 3.5 million British jobs linked to the European Single Market, including those in the City. We’re ‘in Europe, in Work’, which is why I strongly oppose Conservative and UKIP (UK Independence Party) politicians who want us to leave the EU and put British jobs at risk.”
